No fun at all

If you like dying, playing the same chapter over and over again or just imprecise touch controls this is your game.

nice, but...

the original was my favourite in the 90s on super nintendo. the ios version is awesome and brings back a lot of good memories; spending hours in front of the tv and enjoying potato chips and coke. but there is one thing i am missing a lot: the music when you die and at dramatic scenes...

This game brings back old memories

I remember getting this game for my birthday. Playing it for 30min and hating it. I had no idea what was going on or what my objective was. The dislikes out powered the likes but something kept luring me back. I dont know if it was the exploration, puzzle solving or determination to move forward but the further I got the more I loved the game. By the end of the game it left me wanting more and very satisfied with my achievement. In my opinion everyone who likes puzzles, action, fantasy, and a challenge should play through this game at least once their your life. You deserve it.

Another World (aka: Out Of This World)

I was thinking about this game the other day, and how much I enjoyed playing it on the SNES system in 91. This game is almost how I remember it - minus some incidental music that appears to be missing, which will hopefully be restored in a subsequent update. The enhanced graphics are stunning on the iPhones retina display, and its cool to be able to switch back and forth between the original resolution and the new look. The game is also still challenging to play, and remains frustratingly difficult in places. All in all, a sweet purchase for $4.99.

Must have

If u havent played another world yet, u miss out big time on one of the best thing that gaming as to offer. Great adventure, great gameplay, awesome atmosphere. It as it all. Must buy

A classic perfectly ported

I still remember the day when I picked up Another World for my Amiga, and was amazed after watching its incredible intro. What a technical achievement this game was for its time. Remember, we are talking about 1991 and a team of one. Eric Chahi. Yesterday I purchased the iOS port for my iPad and just finished the game. This is so well done that it took me back to my childhood. No crashes, no issues whatsoever. I enjoyed the HD graphics. Yes, the game is short and at times frustrating but in my opinion it is a classic and totally worth the purchase.

Mai ta-rubahh!

We spent hours playing this when it originally came out, and last month I installed it onto an old PowerPC laptop just to see it again. Its one of those games that, for me at least, has stuck in my mind ever since it came out. I cannot wait to relive it this weekend! PS: You need to really know the game well to understand the title of my post.

Great

Its never the same without a controller in hand, but the updated graphics look great without losing the old style, the game plays fairly smoothly. Have had no problems. Next, bring back the original dragon warrior!!!

WooHoo!!!

I could not believe my eyes when I saw this game on the app store! I played this game for days and weeks and months in my younger days. As far as I can tell it is exactly the same as the computer version. Thank you developers for bringing this game to the iPhone.....you made my day!!

Advice please!

Once you acquire the laser pistol, how do you actually shoot it??

We need more games like this

Just like the original. Where is Flashback? I need more HD remake of old PC game. The game is hard and a bit short, but its worth it! Enjoy

Google it

If you dont know why this game matters then Google it. This game was an inspiration for so many games after it, and caused my brother and I WEEKS of challenge when we were younger and could not figure out how to beat this. Thank you for bringing it to iPhone so I could finally beat the only game from my childhood that eluded me! Now I play it over and over.

Classic game, fiddly controls.

If you were a PC-gaming dork in the 90s, you remember this game and probably adore it. Its already seen one cleaned-up/higher-res release on proper computers, and now here it is with touch controls... still pretty, still atmospheric as all get out, and still maddeningly frustrating in places. The muddy speech is a bit jarring on the few occasions that anyone says anything, but the worst surprise is just how mushy the touch controls are; platform/jumping games really do require split-second responses at times, and its all but impossible to pull them off when youre tapping and swiping at your iPad. Maybe it becomes more natural with practice, but Ive just spent twenty minutes repeatedly falling on spikes and having my legs and/or head bitten off, and that gets old after about five; I can just imagine how much Ill want to put my fist through the screen once I reach the crazy back-and-forth gunfights. Some things just work better with physical keyboards, you know?

Wow!

My favorite game on my favorite platform!

Different

I remember playing this when I was ten on our Power Mac. The game is way older than a Power Mac, but its jumped from platform to platform from its inception. Me being older and the availability of tutorials online means youll never be stuck and enjoy the unfolding story. I found this game new and mysterious.

Great controls

Very solid port

I love all the happiness it clearly has brought back for so many

Yup just like all the rest... endless nights addicted to this other world. "what is that strange sound coming from around the corner? From a far chamber elsewhere...". Another user did make a good point that this could be a keyboard game if I remember the quick back and forth action required. But whos gonna complain just yet? Gotta play this with my son and have him experience it too... like he has with robotron! Haha.

Hard but so much fun

Takes me back to when I was a younger man on my SNES and my bro and me played this until dawn most nights.

Just what the iPhone needs

Old classics like this are perfect for the device and this port of Another World is wonderful. The new graphics look really sharp and the swipe/touch control scheme works really well. In fact I used to play this game on an Atari with a joystick and playing it now on a touchscreen lets me enjoy the game more than ever.

Amazing work on old classic

Wow controls and graphics make it feel original yet its just a remake. If u played the original and liked it get it now if you never played it why arent you playing it yet. :) worth every penny. FINISHED THE GAME AND IT CRASHES AT THE END WITHOUT CREDITING U WITH END GAME. The game has been fixed yes get it now :)
