Controls work fine, people are impatient and havent played the original. This game is everything I remember it was, but now it has a shiny new facelift.... Not a complete remake, but a nice gloss to it. Nice work. Hope Flashback is in the works for iOS, not just consoles.

This game is just as I remember it. The mood is just as I remember it and the graphics are great. A must-have for retro gamers and anyone who appreciates real gaming art.

I was so compelled to right this review after beating this game for one simple reason...horrible, poorly designed game mechanics. The story and the artistic style are very good but ultimately the entire experience was ruined for me due to frustration over the controls!

Once upon a time, I beat this game on, I believe, a 286 PC. It holds a special place in my childhood memories. However, this port suffers from controls that are awkward to the point of being nearly unplayable. In addition, the sound effects on my ipad 3 are slow and low, like an LP record being played at half speed. Plus one star for a great game, but minus three for terrible controls.

I loved the game on SNES and bought the game to replay it, but there is no sound at all on my ipad 2. This bug ruins the whole experience. I cant even play it without sounds. What a disappointment!

Very disappointed. Horrible controls and horible check points. You will die over and over and over and over at the same place due to horrible game controls, finally beat the hard part, advance screens ahead, be attacked from off screen and die, then start over before the hard part that took so long to get past. This game will make you want to smash your phone. Buy something else.

Definitely glad to experience the game. It would have 5 stars but the controls dont always respond which can be frustrating.. I did find it helpful to change it to touchpad in settings. If you can get this game for 99 cents then grab it!

This was one of the first games on a PC that hooked me completely. I wanted to find out what would happen next and get through the entire game. The iPad version is also good and, like the original PC version, requires precise timing and quick reflexes. This game is from the golden era of PC gaming and was unique for its time. It is still fun and playable.

This app is amazing. It brings back so many memories from childhood (played as Out of This World). The controls are just as easy (and difficult) as it was when I first played it. I spent 2 hours with the app the first night I bought it. Best money I have spent on a game in a LONG time. Kudos go to the developers.

I really love this! I was so excited when i found this, i could not believe this game got a remake. This has been one of my favorite SNES games ever since I was little, I love the new graphics and the added sound effects, but my only complaint is, where is the background music? Why wasnt that kept in? If that had been left in the game, Id give 5 stars. Other than that, I really have no other complaints.

I got my hands on this game after playing through Sword & Sworcery EP. This is a must-play if you like that game.

True the original with updated graphics (not in a bad way). Reminded me how difficult old school games were! Well worth the money.

At the part where your buddy reaches down from the ceiling to rescue you, nothing happens. Have played this game before and bought this version for nostalgia. However, its broken. I have mailed the developers through their support link but havent heard anything back. Will update this review if and when they fix this.

Im not sure how this app gets such great accolades... Based purely on nostalgia? This app is like playing a poorly developed Atari game with no improvements made to controls. I found it boring and redundant.

Really quite a horribly terrible game, or at least an attempt at a game. Difficult controls in a very basic plot which involves a guy jumping over some kind of leech or something. Dont spend your hard earned money on this exceptional waste of pixels.

The app installs, but since it doesnt open, I dont know how I should rate it. Please fix the bug.

Please add iPhone 5 widescreen support & the sequel Heart of the Alien!

This game looked appealing, so I got it. However, after a while, it got VERY tedious and it took more than 100 tries literally on some extremely hard parts. If you dont like tedious games that make you think or take a huge load of trial and error, this game would be a waste of money and time! The controls arent very intuitive, and the game itself isnt interesting enough to use hours to figure out one section of the puzzle. If you are like me, please dont get this game. I want my money back! :(
